The Tele-operation system demonstrator, developed within the VR-HYPERSPACE research project, has been tested at ICCS of Athens with the cooperation of VTT and Thales Alenia Space, through the execution of several User Evaluation sessions in January 2014.
The Tele-operation system is essentially composed by two integrated subsystems: the rover / robotic arm user interaction device named ‘Ubiquitous Arm’ (UA), and the remote visual monitoring system.

Caption: The MPS Cyber Motion Simulator: The MPS Cyber Motion Simulator is an all-purpose motion simulation tool which is used for scientific research in motion perception, flight training, and simulating aviation/driving experiences.
Together with a local company (BEC, Reutlingen) the MPI developed a closed cabin for surround visual projection. To achieve continuous rotation around the base axis, the robot arm was modified by the manufacturer (KUKA robot AG, Germany).
